Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Shui app, provided by Shui LLC ("Shui," "we," "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.
Using Shui
You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose — generating and watching lessons, taking quizzes, and interacting with other learners in good faith. You agree not to:
- Use the app or the developer API for any unlawful purpose, or to generate content that is illegal, harassing, or infringing.
- Attempt to circumvent the app's credit system, rate limits, or access controls.
- Share your account or developer API keys with anyone else, or use them to abuse the service.
- Post comments or content on the app's social features that are abusive, harassing, or otherwise violate ordinary standards of conduct.
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.
Subscriptions and purchases
Shui offers optional paid tiers and one-time credit top-ups, purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. By purchasing a subscription or top-up, you agree to Apple's own terms for In-App Purchase in addition to these terms. Specifically:
- Paid subscriptions automatically renew each billing period at the price shown at the time of purchase, until cancelled.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings — Shui cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
- Purchased credit is applied to your account balance and is used as you generate lessons; it is not redeemable for cash.
- Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple, subject to Apple's own refund policies.
Your content
You retain ownership of the topics you submit and any comments you post. By submitting a topic to generate a lesson, or by sharing a lesson to the app's social feed, you grant Shui the rights needed to generate, store, and display that content within the app.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Shui is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Lessons are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate — Shui makes no guarantee of the accuracy or completeness of any generated content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shui LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
